Excessive tree-clearing is ramping up and your support is urgently needed to stop koalas from becoming the next casualty in Australia's extinction crisis. When an area of bushland is cleared, many koalas die straight away from injury or trauma. Others are killed in road accidents, or by dogs as they move across the ground to find food and shelter. We need your help to urge Government to strengthen laws around tree clearing. Go to http://www.wwf.org.au/get-involved/save-koalas#!#petition-form & sign the petition to help protect their habitats. Yay Melbourne! We are very excited to take part in this seasons Kids in Style Trade fair at the Royal Exhibition Building. The best part about these events for us is meeting and chatting to all of our wonderful stores ! So we are really looking forward to seeing you all there. We are in heaven with our new collection and cannot wait to share it with you!
This season we’ve been lucky to work with Linnea Puranen, a Swedish designer I’d been admiring for a while. She has two babes of her own and a strong focus on sustainability and ethically designed products. Her stunning designs prompt an emotional connection, great for kids and adults alike.
Really inspired by animals she loves the contrast of their facial expressions to their movements, finding it amusing that they can seem serious whilst running or jumping around.
Both “Luvj Birds” and “Katts” are printed on soft organic cotton, if you’d like to check out more of Linnea’s amazing works you can find her here:
Penny is behind all our beautiful Min Pin Designs, we take on lots of her kooky friends and she has many more to share. They pop up in a variety of mediums including illustrations, jewellery, ceramics, prints and textiles.
We first met Penny at Craft Victoria whilst riding past on our bikes, seeing her window exhibit, we just knew she'd be an amazing fit for Halcyon Nights. We're in awe of her ability to captivate emotion in such child-like illustrations whilst keeping a sophisticated element.
Originally from Perth, Penny now lives amongst the Dandenong Ranges, Victoria, surrounded by Australian flora and fauna, inspiring natural and organic characters and prints, including our classic "Fern Gully" print.
If you'd like to know more about penny you can have a little listen to Wowee Podcast, Episode 17 http://www.woweepodcast.com/
Thanks Penny! We Love you!!
