The story behind the print

Yolande Bell Ruiter

The Yo’s Country Collection

Meet the artist

Yolande Bell Ruiter

Yolande is from Melbourne, Australia and happens to be our founders daughter! Inspired by her love for animals and afternoons painting with her Oma, Yolande brings to life our latest Australian print — Yo’s Country!

Collaborating with Halcyon Nights

The best part?

“Getting to be in a photoshoot with Mummy.”

Who inspires you?

“Mummy and Taylor Swift.”

Inspired by her love for animals, Yo’s koalas, emus, roos and ducks roam across the print.

Where it all begins

Yo’s original artwork

Halcyon Nights print: Yo’s Country — Medium: Painting, Watercolour, Pencil, Pastels, Felt Pen.

A little bit about Yo

From paper to play

The Yo’s Country collection

Yo’s artwork comes to life across the collection — Fluffy Knit Baby Blanket, Jumper, Cardigan and Beanie in Yo’s Country.

GOTS certified organic cotton

GOTS is an internationally recognised organic textile certification that looks at the whole journey, from how the cotton is grown through to dyeing, making and finishing. It means the fabric has been independently checked at every step, giving you something more meaningful than simply a garment labelled “organic”.

Stretch Jersey + 5% elastane — stretch that springs back

Super soft with just the right amount of stretch, so wraps stay snug and secure without feeling restrictive. And for little sleepers, the fabric moves with them while keeping its shape through all the kicking, wriggling and midnight adventures.

One wrap, three jobs

One little blanket, so many uses. At 100 × 100cm with softly rounded corners, it’s perfect for swaddling, a lightweight blanket or a pram cover, and folds neatly away when not in use. A beautiful, practical gift for new arrivals.

Made for the thinnest skin they'll ever have

Newborn skin is delicate and more sensitive than adult skin, so what touches it matters. For pieces worn close to their skin, day and night, we choose soft organic cotton made to meet stringent standards for harmful substances, giving little ones a gentler start.
