Micke's confident hand and unapologetic choice of chromatically lush materials

– such as Posca pens, bright acrylics and printing inks – reward his audience with a

visually delightful series of hand-generated and digital arrangements. His playful

compositions make use of balance, colour and contrast to showcase his masterful

embrace of the primary palette. The bright and snappy works recall his most

prominent influences - Pop Art, Superflat, Scandinavian design and the balmy Sydney summertime.

Favourite childhood memory?

We always went to Denmark on summer holiday. We camped near the beach and spent the whole day outside. Living in Sydney feels similar in a way, I can go to the beach wheneve I want :)

Favourite season?

Summer, Australian or Swedish. Both versions of summer are excellent! Sydney summer is hot and feels like a tropical holiday (to a scandinavian haha). Summer in Stockholm is more fresh and the light evenings are the best.

Favourite sound?

Waves. My dream is to live by the ocean so I can listen to waves 24h.

Favourite object?

Oh I have so many haha! I have lots of fun toys around my studio, like Snoopy, Doraemon, the aliens from toy story.

Who inspires you?

My friends. Most of my friends are artists and all super creative in different ways.

What’s the best part about collaborating with Halcyon Nights?

The best part of collaborating with Halcyon Nights is our equal excitement and love for colour. Creating these patterns together was so fun, we had a very similar vision of what our collaboration should look like. It was a super inspiring and fun experience. I wish I could wear everything we made!!! :)
