Favourite childhood memory?

One of my favourite childhood memories is playing pretend cooking games in the garden using old kitchen tools my mother gave me. I loved being surrounded by the scent of grass and soil, shaping smooth mud balls and collecting them. I also fondly remember standing beside mirrors with my friends, shifting our positions relative to the reflection line. We would move our faces and bodies around, laughing so hard at the funny, distorted balance of our reflections.

Favourite season?

Spring. I love seeing flowers bloom and watching the garden change and grow day by day. It makes me feel the vibrant energy and strength of life, which always fills me with excitement.

Favourite sound?

Animal sounds, children chatting, nostalgic sound effects from old video games, birds and the wind in the forest, and the soothing sound of flowing rivers.

Favourite object?

Cats and other animals, plants, soft blankets and futons, children, and cute, playful, slightly mysterious things.

Who inspires you?

A lot of my ideas spark while I am drawing. I often become completely absorbed in the artwork, thinking. I also get inspired by little moments of visual illusion in everyday life. Street signs, bath toys, or ordinary objects will suddenly look like completely different shapes or characters. It usually turns out to be just an optical illusion created by overlapping objects, but I love capturing that very first impression of shapes and colours and bringing them into my work. Moreover, children’s drawings and handwriting are a huge source of inspiration. Having worked as an elementary school teacher, I spent many years looking at the pictures and words children created every day. Their freedom, sense of wonder, and endless imagination continue to inspire me, and I love playfully mimicking the unique charm of their lines and letters in my own artwork.
